Patricia A. Peters, 76, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Rockford Memorial Hospital from a lengthy illness. Patricia was born to Steve and Ruth Adams on August 19, 1932 in Rockford. She was a life-long resident of Rockford. Patricia graduated from Rockford West High School in 1950. She married Walter R. (Dick) Peters on April 12, 1953. Her tender caring for others inspired her to choose a career in nursing, completing her RN degree from Madison General Hospitals Nursing Program in 1953. She worked at both Swedish American Hospital and Rockford Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1990. She assisted her husband and brother-in-law, Roger, with the office work for the family business, Hi-Grade Excavating for many years. Patricia was a dedicated, baptized servant of Jehovah God for the past 51 years and attended the Rockford North Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses. Her passion for her family and friends was obvious to all who knew her and whose lives she touched. She enjoyed reading, gardening, especially her flower beds, playing cards with her card club, and going to lunch with family and friends. Survived by her husband of 55 years, Dick; her daughter, Linda (Bill) Piccirilli; sons, Steven (Marianne) Peters and Brian (Renae) Peters. Also survived by her mother, Ruth Adams and her sister, Dorothy Hoffman. Her treasured grandchildren include Erin and Joseph Piccirilli, Nikki (Richard) Jarrett, Kristi Peters, Steffani Peters, Nicole (James) Rose, Kelly (Mike) Henry, Lindsay Peters and Collin Peters; great grandchild, Robert James Rose; brother-in-law, Roger (Bev) Peters; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Stan) Bouma; Betty Powersand numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father, Steve; brothers-in-law, Ronald Peters and Jack Hoffman; sister-in-law, Emma Breedingand nephew, Randy Peters. Visitation for Patricia will be on Sunday, November 16, 2008 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the North Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses, 3645 W. Riverside Blvd. with Gary West conducting the service. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
