Patricia A. Paulson

Patricia Ann Paulson, 76, passed away at Swedish American Hospital on Friday, December 18, 2020.

Pat was born July 27, 1944 in Sycamore, IL, the daughter of Carlyle and Dorothy (Holmes) Firkins. She graduated from Belvidere High School, Class of 1963. Pat married Willard (Bill) Paulson on August 18, 1963 in Genoa, IL. She worked as a teacher’s aide in special education for Rockford Public Schools for 25 years. Pat also was a homemaker and dedicated mother to her three sons. She was a longtime member of First Free Rockford Evangelical Church where she was active in Sunday school with her husband. Pat enjoyed cooking, baking, needlepoint, stamping and making personalized cards for any occasion. Pat was a farmgirl with a tireless work ethic, and she was caring, selfless and greatly enjoyed serving others. Pat loved spending time with her husband, her seven grandchildren, her sisters and their families, and her many loving friends. Pat will be dearly missed.

Pat is survived by her husband, Bill; children, Brad (Sue) Paulson, Brian (Stacie) Paulson and Jeff (Shelly) Paulson; grandchildren, Sidney, Annie, Jake, Luke, Lauren, Bailee, and Landen; sisters, Susan (Gary) Pinne and Carla (Keith) Walker and many special friends of her and Bill’s. She is predeceased by her parents, her sister, Sharon Firkins, and her parents-in-law, Maude and Bernie Guedes.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 pm with a service at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 28, 2020 at First Free Rockford Evangelical Church. Entombment will conclude at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Those attending services must wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.
