Patience C. Schnepper

Patience C. Schnepper, 73, of Belvidere, was called home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 24, 2017. She was born in Juneau, Alaska, on October 8, 1943, to Donald and Arlene (Anderson) Vertin. Patience married her loving husband, Richard Schnepper on June 7, 1963, at the Silver Hill Evangelical Church in Rockford. Patience worked for Awana Club International for 25 years, as Production Specialist, retiring in 2008. She was a faithful member of Maywood Evangelical Free Church, and devoted her life to the Lord. Patience was a giving, loving, and helpful woman who had all the patience in the world. She enjoyed her sewing, gardening, cooking, and tending to the little ones. She knew the bible and many hymns by heart. She will always be remembered as a loving Christian wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

Patience is survived by her husband, Richard Schnepper; children, Don Schnepper, Dave (Angel) Schnepper, and Sheila Tharp; grandchildren, Derek Reder, Megan Gielis, Brian Schnepper, Brandon Tharp, Hannah Reder, Cole Tharp, Zach Reder, Amy Reder, and Dawson Tharp; great grandchildren, Haydin and Oliver Gielis; siblings, Charles Vertin, Grace Bennett, Faith Nelson, and Dan Vertin. She is predeceased by her parents and sister, Darlene Rund.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at the Maywood Evangelical Free Church, 3621 Samuelson Rd., Rockford, IL, 61109. Visitations will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108; and one hour prior to service on Wednesday at Church.
