Pamela Jean Wilson Wieland, 51, lost her 8 year courageous battle with ovarian cancer on February 1, 2008, at Swedish American Hospital. Born in Rockford on September 25, 1956 to Delbert and Neva (Tielkemeier) Wilson. For many years, Pam was self-employed as the talented owner and creative genius of Applied Design. In recent years, she worked at her dream job in fabric sales for Moda Fabrics/ United Notions. She was an artist with a sewing machine, a loving wife, a doting grandmother, a loyal friend and a very proud and outstanding mother. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Drs, Nurses and staff at Swedish American Hospital, 7th floor oncology department. Besides her parents, survivors include her husband, Tom; children, Stephanie McHugh of Chicago, Jenny (Peter) Brodeski of Rockford and Sean McHugh of St. Paul, MN; the loves of her life, granddaughters Sophie and Amelia; step-children, Matt (Robin) Wieland and Anne Wieland; brothers, Doug (Alex) Wilson and Greg (Lisa) Wilson both of Tucson, AZ; nieces Bobbie and Joey Wilson and nephews Michael and Jack Wilson. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Visitation will be from 10:30 until time of service. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to the family for funds to be designated to Gildas Club and for equipment for the oncology floor at Swedish American Hospital.
