Pamela C. Girgenti, 82, Rockford, died at 10:35 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009 in Swedish American Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born May 29, 1926 in Amite City, LA, daughter of Antonio Vullo and Maria Caveratta Vullo. Married Jimmie P. Girgenti in Amite City on September 15, 1946. She was employed as a cosmetologist for 34 years, retiring in 1992. Pamela was a devout member of St. Edward Catholic Church with a deep devotion to her Catholic faith. She was a former member of the St. Anthony Renew Prayer Group and Catholic Women""s League. She was also a member of the St. Edward Senior Group and their Red Hat Club. She always enjoyed traveling, but the true joy of her life was her family, preparing meals for them and her beloved grandchildren. Survivors include her sons, John Girgenti, Rockford, James Anthony (Paula) Girgenti, Chandler, AZ and David M. (Lori) Girgenti, Belvidere; grandchildren, Anthony and Adriana Girgenti and Michael, Maria, Joseph, Anna and David James Girgenti. Also survived by her sisters, Josie Sagnibene and Marie (Angelo) Giardina and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband on March 6, 2001, her parents, sisters, Rose, Susie, Antoinette, Laura and Mamie and brothers, Russell, Joseph and Leon. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009 in St. Edward Catholic Church with Rev. Michael T. Black officiating. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. Visitation also from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at the church on Thursday.
