Orville S. Hoff

Orville S. Hoff, 85 of Rockford passed away Saturday, October 3, 2009 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born March 10, 1924 in Argyle, WI, the son of Peter and Ida (Nelson) Hoff. He married Beverly Royster on April 30, 1946 in Winterset, Iowa. Orville was employed by Mott Brothers and J.D. Mott for 43 years until his retirement in 1992. He served in the United States Army, where he was sent overseas to battle in the European Theatre of WWII. Orville is a member and past Post Commander of Rockford VFW Post No.5149. He loved golf and was very talented at building and working with his hands. He is survived by his wife Beverly, sons David and Gary (Mary Myers) Hoff, Grandchildren Ivan, Eric and Melissa "Abby" . Great-grandchildren Ivan Michael, Kennedy, Savanna, Geo and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents, brothers Harold, Carl, Vernus "Duckie" and sister Clara.
