Olympia J. Zawislak, 92, of Rockford, passed away Tuesday November 1, 2016 at Alpine Fireside. Born September 6, 1924, in Rockford, the daughter of Stefan & Mary (Grzybowska) Bronowski. Olympia lived in the Rockford area her whole life. She married Frank M. Zawislak in Rockford, on May 3, 1947. Frank predeceased her on June 27, 2005. She worked for the Pink Pony for over fifteen years. Member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. She loved golfing, gardening, cooking and crocheting.
Survivors include daughter, Yvonne (Steve) Holdeman; grandchildren, Eric (Bridget), Aaron (Kim), Alec (Leslie) Nevalainen; great-grandchildren, Madeline and Isabel Nevalainen; brother, Sigmund (Mary Ann) Bronowski, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, husband, brothers; Chester, Walt, John, Steve and Matt.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff at Alpine Fireside.
Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2016 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 201 Buckbee St, Rockford, IL 61104. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
