Jaimie Cox, 30, of South Beloit died in the line of duty serving his community as a Rockford Police Officer on Sunday, November 5, 2017. He was born on August 4, 1987 in Rockford, the son of James and Terry (Kruckenburg) Cox. He graduated from Hononegah High School and Northern Illinois University. Jaimie proudly served in the United States National Guard and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. He joined the Rockford Police Department in 2016. Jaimie was kind, selfless, and patient, with a wonderful gift to see the good in everyone. He wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty whether it was a home improvement project, going fishing or hunting. He loved the outdoors, and the simplicity of nature. Jaimie never settled for just doing the job, he always wanted to do more and never feared sacrifice. Above all, Jaimie was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Jaimie touched the lives of all of those who met him and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Caitlin; his father, Jim (Sherry) Cox; his siblings, Sean and Maggie Cox; his nieces and nephews, Jaidyn, Marquis Jr., Isaiah, Ava, Ariia and Christian; many cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and his beloved dog, Ruger. He is predeceased by his mother, Terry and grandparents.
