Norman R. Melton, 65 Norman R. Melton, 65 of Rockford, died on Saturday, February 24, 2007 in his home. Born June 23, 1941 in Washburn, WI the son of Woodrow and Florence (Leckel) Melton. Served in the United States Army. Married his loving wife of 40 years Joan Brauer in Stone Lake, WI. Worked for 37 years at Suntec Industries as a machine operator retiring in February 2002. Normans hobbies included woodworking, planting an annual garden and being a hardworking, self taught "Mr. Fix It" who could repair anything. Survivors include his wife, Joan of Rockford; children, Mark (Renee) of Belvidere , Aaron, Amy (Steve) Lanning and Melissa (Brad) Olson all of Rockford; grandchildren, Jordan, Aspen, Alayna, Payton, Tabitha and Billy; mother, Florence Melton; siblings, Harold (Kate) of Stone Lake, WI, Margaret (Merle) Moyer of Hayward, WI, Ronnie (Carol) of Stone Lake, WI, Jerry (Ann Jones) of Rockford, Shirley (Orville) Jones of Spooner, WI, Lorretta (Jim) Sheifield of Bruce, WI, Henry (Gayle) of Hayward, WI and John (Evie) of Stone Lake, WI., and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. Dr. William R. Kerr, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.
