Norma J. Rankin

Norma Jean Rankin, 82 of Rockford, died Thursday, May 21, 2009. Born April 8, 1927 in Oak Park, IL the daughter of Norman and Catherine (Murphy) Prodie. Married her loving husband, the late Robert C. Rankin on April 6, 1953 at St. Mel Church. Norma grew up on the west side of Chicago. Her previous residences included Oak Park and Palatine. She enjoyed her childhood summers in Lakeside, MI and later with her family. She has been a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church since 1963. Survivors include her son"s, Norman (Kia) of Columbus, OH, Theodore of LaGrange, Matthew (Theresa Fischer) of Rockford and Joseph also of Rockford; grandchildren, Scott Stoll and Caroline Rankin and great granddaughter Madeline Stoll. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, and daughter Elizabeth Stoll. Funeral Mass Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 9:00 A.M. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2505 School St., Rockford, IL 61101. After Mass cremation rites to follow at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials to: Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center.
