Noah L. Alsup, 77, Rockford, went to be with his Lord of whom he had taught and sung about for many years, on Thursday, December 22, 2011.nbsp; He was in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family and friends.nbsp; Born March 12, 1934 in Trail, MO, son of William and Alma Young Alsup. He attended school in West Plains, MO, and married Opal Heinrich on January 2, 1954.nbsp; They moved to Rockford in 1969 where he obtained his ministerial credits for ordination in the General Baptist Association.nbsp; He pastored the Beverly Park, Bethesda, Friendship, Woodside and Rockford United Churches in Rockford. They moved back to West Plains where he pastored the First General Baptist Church and was the Associate Pastor in United Freewill.nbsp; He retired from Rogers Ready Mix in 1997.nbsp; Noah enjoyed fishing, sports, playing the guitar and banjo and wrote and sang many songs about his Lord.
Survivors include his wife, Opal; daughters, Ruth (Mike) Howard, Sandra (Steve) Deardeuff, Kimberly (Joe) MacMurchy and son, Bill (Kim) Alsup; grandchildren, Laura Howard, Jessica (PJ) Burleson, Noah MacMurchy, Brenden Alsup, Sydney MacMurchy, Karysa Alsup, Benjamin MacMurchy and Isaac MacMurchy; greatgrandchildren, Kaiden Burleson, Alyssa Howard, Mason Burleson and Bryan Deardeuff; siblings, Louise (Marvin) Lewis, Dean (Linda) Alsup and Amos (Martha) Alsup.nbsp; Predeceased by his parents and daughter, Gwendolyn (Alsup) Bost.nbsp; The Alsup family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Flynn, Dr. Schultz, their staffs and the staff of Heartland Hospice for the care and compassion extended to Noah and his family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in Rockford United General Baptist Ministries with Rev. Wayne Hodge officiating.nbsp; A time of visitation will be at the church on Monday from 57 p. m. and from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service on Tuesday.nbsp;nbsp; On Thursday, December 29 th a visitation will held at RobertsonDrago Funeral Home in West Plains, MO, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.nbsp; Rev. Dennis McGinley will officiate.nbsp; Burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery, West Plains.nbsp; Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established in Noahs name at a later date.
