Nino Germano

Nino J. Germano, 98, of Rockford passed away on September 6, 2012, in Wesley Willows. Born December 7, 1913, in Fossacesia, Italy, the son of Orazio and Consiglia (Fantini). He married Geneva Nelson on October 8, 1938. She predeceased him in 2002. Nino owned Galger Engineering, Jacks or Better, the Red Coach and then The Manor, which he owned for 27 years. Past member of Forest Hills Country Club where he won the Presidents Trophy.Survived by four children, Judy Rhodes of Rockford, Nancy (Dr. Keith) Wrage of Rockford, Carolyn (John) Fiorello of Madison, WI and Jeremy Germano of Rockford. Grandchildren, Michael, Tommy, Lori Ann, David, Brian, Christine, Dana, Wendy, John, Grant and Jay. 21 Great grandchildren. Sister, Maria Stacionis of Rockford. Numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; Wife Geneva, brothers, John, Joseph and Anthony Germano; Nephew Joey. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday September 10, 2012, in St. Anthony of Padua Church, with visitation from 9 to 9:45 a.m.; the Franciscan Friars will officiate. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Poor Clares, Alzheimers association or PAWS. Family and friends may
