Nicholas "Nick" Lee Cook

Nicholas “Nick” Lee Cook, 28, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. He was born in Rockford, IL, on January 28, 1993, the son of David and Kathy (Johnson) Cook.

Nick graduated from Hononegah High School in 2011. He enjoyed being in Boy Scouts and achieved the highest rank of Eagle Scout. Nick was employed at McCurdy Tools where he worked as a welder. He enjoyed disc golf and being outdoors. Nick would often joke around and have fun with everyone around him, he was known for his contagious laugh. Nick had a big heart and was friendly to everyone he met. His favorite title was Dad to his son, Isaac who he loved spending time with the most.

Nick is survived by his parents, David and Kathy Cook of Loves Park; son, Isaac; brother, Nathan (Jacqueline) Cook of DeForest, WI; grandparents, Richard (Shirley) Cook of Machesney Park, Leroy Johnson of Rockford and Robert McNaughton of Rockford; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his infant brother, David Ross Cook; grandmother, Margaret Johnson and grandmother, Dorothy “Dodie” McNaughton.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Memorials may be given to the family for Isaac Cook’s College Fund.
