Nerieda Jean Muehlfelder

Nerieda Jean Muehlfelder, 87, Ingleside, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 23, 2014, at home. She was born January 4, 1927, in Chicago, the daughter of George and Esther (Friberg) Rieker. Nerieda married Fred L. Muehlfelder in Chicago on July 26, 1947. He passed away September 29, 1984. She was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in the church for many years. Nerieda enjoyed her many friends, especially the ladies in her card group that met on Monday mornings. She always enjoyed visitors and was a true conversationalist. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family and each visit was special to her. Special thanks to her friends Nancy, Jan, and Theresa ,and the staff at Gentiva Hospice and her caregiver, Evelyn, for their kind and compassionate care.
Survived by her children, Fred (Lois) of Rockford, Ken (Dianne) of Freeport, Sue (Bob) Dubs of Richmond, Tom (Sandra) of Ingleside, Dan (Kristin) of Raleigh, NC, Mark (Nancy) of Johnsburg, and Barb (Kevin) Pietschman of Burlington, WI; her grandchildren, Corey Tutwiler, Heather Whelan, Amber Neidermeier, Fred (Kristin) Muehlfelder, Rachel (Matt) Thomann, Gene (Anastasia) Barrick, Michelle (Jeff) Ranken, Damian Tate, Corrie Weidel, Ken (Becky) Muehlfelder ,Cyle and Cathy Roberts, Jennifer Picha, Rob (Nicole) Dubs, Tina (Ben) Bourbon, Nathan and Maggie Muehlfelder, Preston and Taylor Muehlfelder, Jennifer and Elizabeth Stevens, Kathryn and Amy Wolf, Ryan and Kyle Muehlfelder, Brendon Pietschman, Michelle (Joe) Sosnowski, Jessica Pietschman; her great-grandchildren, Maiya, Kaiyli, and Kaiden Whelan, Kinsley Nedermeier, Abby and Natalie Muehlfelder, Ryan, Matthew, and Sophie Thomann, Samantha, Benjamin and Abigale Ranken, Dayne Tate, Kenadie Carey, Payton Gill, Karsyn, Delaney and Collin Muehlfelder, Hunter Roberts, Breana and Jilyan Dubs, Hannah and Hailey Bourbon, Monica Madden, Mackenzie and Autumn Geren; her brother, William Rieker; many nieces and nephews and her furry friend, Kody. Predeceased by her husband, Fred; her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Muehlfelder in 2000; her great-granddaughter, Manuela Bourbon in 2007; her sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Arthur Zielke, and her sister-in-law, Grace Rieker.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 29, 2014, in Trinity Lutheran Church,25519 W. IL Rt. 134, Ingleside, 60041, with Reverend Janet Breum officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday August 28, 2014, at K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake and from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. on Friday at the church. A luncheon will be served immediately following the services.
