Neil Christiansen

Neil Thomas Christiansen 71 of Belvidere passed away Friday October 18, 2013 in his home. He was born August 16, 1942 in Beloit, WI. The son of Nels and Ethel Christiansen. He married Debra Hart on May 27, 1999 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. He worked for Chrysler and retired in 2001 after 30 plus years. Serv3ed in the US Air Force. Neil was an avid bird watcher, which led him to start the Lakeland Audubon Society in Lake Geneva.
Survivors include his wife Debrah of Belvidere. Two sons, Thomas Christiansen of Boulder, CO and Neil (Michelle) Christiansen of Mount Pleasant, MI. A special thanks to stepdaughters Kristine Johnsen and Diana Slager for their loving care during the last days of Neil's life and the family would also like to thank Northern IL Hospice for their professional expertise and compassionate services. Grandchildren, Duncan and Nicholas Christiansen, Andru and Burnie Slager and Jason Johnsen. Brothers, Lee (Anna) Christiansen, Jerry (Joan) Christiansen and Steven (Linda) Christiansen. Sister, Laurie (Stephen) Christiansen-Mendon. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents.
