Nathan “Nate” J. Gierwiatoski, 32, of Rockford, passed away on June 24, 2020. He was born in Rockford, IL, on July 17, 1987, the son of John and Kim (Kuehl) Gierwiatoski. Nate was a 2005 graduate of East High School, where he played on the football, baseball and bowling teams. He was a Jack of All Trades and dedicated employee of Spring Green Lawn Care who loved the Chicago Bears and White Sox and enjoyed gambling, especially “betting on the ponies”.
Survived by his parents, John and Kim; fiancé’, Kayla Strazdins; maternal grandparents, Don and Bernice Kuehl; uncle, Don Kuehl; cousins, Matt (Amber) Kuehl, Adam Kuehl, and Bradley Kuehl and beloved dog, Stella. Predeceased by paternal grandparents, Larry and Edna Gierwiatoski.
A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S Mulford Road, Rockford, IL, with Reverend Jacob P. Heine officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 8 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., also at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory. All services require social distancing and wearing of masks by all in attendance.
