Naomi Mae Hand, 84, a resident of Rockford for 67 years, died at 5:50 pm on Sept. 6 at St. Anne Center.nbsp; Naomi was born in Audobon, Iowa on December 13, 1922, the daughter of Charles and Bonnie (Crees) Stanley.nbsp; Naomi met LeRoy Hand at Rainbow Gardens and noticed him because he was so good looking and such a sharp dresser.nbsp; She started working at W.F. and John Barnes and LeRoy was her Set-up man.nbsp; Seven months later, April 25, 1943, they were married in Newell, Iowa. nbsp; Naomi was an all around athlete and was given the nickname Toughy.nbsp; She loved bowling, bingo, watching sports and was an avid Cubs, White Sox and Bears fan. nbsp; Naomi is survived by her son, Bruce (Nancy) Hand; her two daughters, Sharon (Maurice) Gay and Mary Jo Jody (Rodney) Anderson; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her sister, Theone Frederickson; her four sister-in-laws, Irene Stanley, Lois Stanley, Julia Greenwood, Florence Short and many close nieces and nephews, whom always included her in everything..nbsp; Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, LeRoy; her son, Mark; her three brothers, William, Charles and James Stanley; her two sisters, Wyvonne Mickelson and Nadine Enderson and her grandson Eddy Anderson. nbsp; A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 10nbsp;at 11 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 4620 S. 20th St., Rockford with Rev. Ralph Kuespert officiating.
