Nancy Elizabeth Dust

Nancy Elizabeth Dust, 69, Rockford, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Mercy Hospital. She was born on January 3, 1951, in Belvidere, IL, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Donovan) James. Nancy graduated from Boylan Catholic High School in 1968. She was a long time member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, where she was active with the St. Bernadette Senior Association. After retiring from the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services in 2015, Nancy volunteered her time working at the Javon Bea Mercy Hospital. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and was an avid reader.

Survived by her son, Eric (Velia) Dust; her brother, Thomas (Sharon) James; her niece, Jennifer (Mike) Burrill; her nephews, Brian (Debbie) James, Matthew (Erica) James, and Greg (Amy) James; and many great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on, Friday, December 18, 2020 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave, Rockford, IL 61103. Masks and social distancing will be required. The service will be lived streamed at www.zoom.us with Meeting ID: 896 34269 622 and Passcode: 123. Interment will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Belvidere, IL.
