Nancy E. Turner

Nancy E. Turner, 46, a life long resident of Rockford, went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 9:05 p.m. Born December 21, 1962 the daughter of Denver and Laura Faye (Ring) Dingus. Graduate of Jefferson High School class of 1980 and attended Rock Valley College. Worked in the banking industry for several years as a small business loan officer. Nancy was a member of Down Sizers and volunteered at Rockford Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed traveling and if the destination included a beach, Myrtle Beach, she was there. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sorkin and Dr. Bentz for giving the family another seven years with Nancy. They would also like to thank all of her special friends, family and Dr. Julie Chang for always being by her side. Survivors include her son, Vardman Lee Buddy Turner III of Algonquin; daughter, Stefanie Turner of Rockford, her first unborn grandchild; her parents, Denver (Faye) Dingus of Rockford; sister, Susan (Sean) Powers of Rockford; niece, Crystle Powers and nephew, Paxton Powers both of Rockford and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, especially, Robbie. Preceded in death by her Paternal and Maternal Grandparents. Funeral Service Friday, April 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Pastor Russell Dingus officiating. Interment in Arlington Memorial Park.
