Morgan "Morey" Weiss

Morgan “Morey” R. Weiss, 69, of Rockford, passed away on August 17, 2023. He was born on June 2, 1954, the son of William and Irene Weiss of Ryebrook, New York. He married Linda Crain on November 8, 2003, in Rockford. He was a member of the American Legion in Rockford, and Amvets in Leesburg, Florida. Morey and Linda spent many winters in Leesburg, Florida, and summers at Woodhaven Lakes. He was an avid outdoorsman, where he enjoyed fishing, boating, mowing the lawn and camping. He was a quiet man who enjoyed being around family and friends and having a few cocktails. He was a sensitive, private, but very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Ashley Lovestrand; grandchildren, Chelsea and Peyton; sister, Gail McCarthy; in-laws, Ed (Suzi), Sue (John), Sharon (Perry), and Randy (Renee); his loving pet, Andy; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and special friends, Tim and Annette Lynch. He is predeceased by his parents; brother-in-law, Neil McCarthy; and in-laws, Vernon and Pauline Crain.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, at the American Legion #1207, 1011 S. Alpine Road, Rockford 61108. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be donated to multiple charities. Please share memories and condolences online.
