Mitzi L. DiVerdi, 48, of Loves Park, was welcomed home on Sunday, December 13, 2015. She was born in Rockford on March 28, 1967; to parents Alex and Connie (Klockenga) DiVerdi. Mitzi graduated from Guilford High School in 1986. Mitzi was very creative and crafty, she worked for Craftworld at Colonial Village for many years. Mitzi also took pride in her work at Park Lanes inside Splitters Bar as a Bartender. Mitzi enjoyed her time there, and the people she grew to know and love while at Splitters. Mitzi was a loving woman, mother, grandmother, sister, and a friend to all that knew her. We will miss you Mitzi.
She is survived by her boyfriend, Julio Garcia; granddaughter, Michaela Freeman; sister, Shelly (Dan) Hood; niece, Skyler Pyzynski; nephews, Chris DiVerdi and Kegan Pyzynski; grand niece and nephew, Jaxon and Julia DiVerdi; aunt, Pat (Tom) Creamer; and close friends, Joelle Sumpter and Margaret Beckman; and the extended Garcia Family.
Mitzi is predeceased by her parents; her son, Michael Freeman; and her sister, Rebecca DiVerdi.
A celebration and remembrance of Mitzi’s life will be from 1:00 to 6:00 PM on Saturday, December 19, 2015; inside Splitters Bar & Grill, 5318 N. 2nd St., Loves Park, IL, 61111. Memorial donations may be given to Mitzi’s Family or to Crystal Wilson at Park Lanes to go towards the Headstone Fund. Arrangements have been cared for by Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108.
