Mildred M. Burton

Mildred M. Burton, 97, Rockford, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010, at Provena Cor Mariae. She was born February 11, 1913, in Savanna, the daughter of Benjamin and Grace (Beckner) Reibel. Mildred was a graduate of Savanna High School. She married Doug Fitzpatrick in Savanna in the early 1930's. After he died tragically in a railroad accident, she met and married Paul Burton in Clinton, Iowa, in 1939. Mildred owned and operated a beauty salon in Rockford for many years. She enjoyed sewing and cooking and loved doing jigsaw puzzles. Survived by her son and his wife, Larry and Karen Burton of Rockford; her grandson, James (Michelle) Burton, granddaughter, Brenda Burton, and her great-granddaughter, Sadie. Predeceased by her parents, her husbands, Doug Fitzpatrick and Paul Burton, a brother and two sisters.A Memorial Gathering will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S.
