Michel Seivert Bengtson, 41 of Janesville, WI, previously of Rockford, IL, passed away on January 16, 2021, in the arms of her loving husband after a 39 year battle with multiple autoimmune diseases. She was born on May 22, 1979 in Sterling, IL. She was the precious daughter of Mike and Debi Seivert. Michel attended Holy Family Grade School and Boylan Catholic High School, class of 1997. She attended Swedish American’s School of Radiography and loved working at Swedish American Hospital as a Radiographic Technologist until her illnesses made it impossible to continue doing what she loved. She married the love of her life Kevin Bengtson on August 3, 2001. Michel was a strong, brave woman whose motto in life was “What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger”. She loved life, had a warm inviting smile and open arms to everyone she met. She never judged and accepted people for who they were. Even when she was ill, she always tried to put other people first. She will be greatly missed by her family, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends. She is survived by her husband, Kevin; son, Jacob Clearman; parents, Mike and Debi Seivert; brother, Jeffrey (Alyssa) Seivert; paternal grandmother, Claire Seivert; nieces and nephews, Harper, Isaac, Ella, and Judah.; mother-in-law, Kathie (Jack) Benson; step mother-in-law, Kathy Bengtson; brothers-in-law, Larry (Sharrie) Bengtson and Michael (Dawn) Bengtson; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Predeceased by her aunt Jennifer Seivert; maternal grandparents Joseph and Lydia Reola; paternal grandfather Raymond Seivert; and father-in-law Larry Bengtson. The family would like to thank Dr. Christie Bartels from the University of Wisconsin Madison for her care and for helping to make Michel’s last wish granted, and Dr. Luan Elezi, and Beloit Regional Hospice for their loving care and compassion. Cremation rites accorded with Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory. Mass of the Resurrection will be at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Loves Park, IL on Saturday January 30, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. The Mass will also be live-streamed for those who cannot attend. Social distancing and masks are required for the Mass. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
