Micheal H. Brown

Micheal H. Brown 77 of Rockford passed away Saturday November 26, 2016. He was born November 15, 1939 in Eureka, IL the son of Ralph and Leone Brown. He graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science. He first married Janet Heyungs she predeceased him in 1979, he then married Linda Horter, she predeceased him in 2014. He worked as a teacher for the Rockford Public Schools, working at Guilford Center and Bloom Elementary. He worked with the Rockford Park District as a Camp director at Atwood and Aldeen during the 70's and 80's. He retired from teaching in 1995 and went on to work as an assistant greenkeeper for several Rockford Park District golf courses. He enjoyed woodworking, photography and travel.
Survivors include his three children; Bruce (Tonya) of Rockford, Brian (Mindy) of Winnebago and Michelle (Scott) Altenhofen of Amherst, WI. Grandchildren; Michael, Miranda, Scott, Abby and Emma. Sister; Mary Melody of Rockford. Niece; Rose Melody. Great niece; Desi Melody. Predeceased by his parents, brother Jim, wives; Janet and Linda, son Matthew, and son-in-law Jon Newman.
Funeral Service at 10am Saturday December 3, 2016 in Grace Lutheran Church. Visitation from 5pm until 7pm Friday December 2 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home 1860 S. Mulford Road.
