Michael W. Withrow

Michael W. Withrow, 68, of Rockford, IL died at on December 17, 2022. He was born on October 6, 1954 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Walter Glenn and Ella Marie (DeMoss) Withrow.

Michael married Janie Cates Merrick on October 27, 1990, in Rockford IL.  He was a Welder who worked in a variety of manufacturing settings and Truck Driver over his career. Michael loved to go fishing and enjoyed playing the guitar. He also had a tender spot in his heart for animals, especially his cats, Rusty and Hummer.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Janie; step-sons, Brett (Cheryl) Merrick, John (Kristin) Merrick, and Joshua (Christy) Merrick; grandchildren, Tristan, Collin, Ethan, Drake (Taylor), Lucas, Joshua II, Taylor and Zachary; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Raelynn; brother, Walter Glenn Jones and sisters, Cheri Estep and Brenda (Rob) Houp. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Deborah Withrow.

A Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory – Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Avenue, Rockford, IL 61103, with a Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Interment to follow at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery in Rockford, IL.
