Michael W. Seward, 63, of Rockford, passed away on July 12, 2020. He was born in Jackson, Tennessee, on August 10, 1956, the son of Reverend L.W. and Bessie L. (Jones) Seward.
On November 7, 1987, Michael was united in marriage to Deborah Sanders in Rockton at The Church by the Side of the Road. Michael was a long time member of City First Church. He was a dedicated employee of 26 years at the Chrysler Assembly Plant and a UAW member. In his spare time, Michael enjoyed playing the guitar and was his grandchildren’s “#1 Fan”, attending all of their sporting events. He was also a Little League baseball coach at Roy Gayle, and a huge Chicago White Sox fan.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; children, Jordan (Jade) Seward and Jason (Michelle) Sanders; grandchildren, Silas, Preston and Gavin; siblings, David (Victoria) Seward, L. W. Seward, Jr. and Bessie (Murphy) Seward; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by parents.

A Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL. Funeral Service will be private. Those in attendance for any of the services will be required to wear masks and social distance.
