Michael Joseph Hazen

Michael Joseph Hazen, 69, Winnebago, passed away Sunday November 12, 2017, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 15, 1947, in Rockford, the son of Robert James and Mary Kay (Welch) Hazen. Michael was a veteran of the Air Force. He married Francine Zinna in Rockton on September 22, 1979. Michael was an electronic technician for Mosler Company and later for Diebolt for many years. Michael enjoyed gardening and riding on his trike. He and Francine enjoyed their many trips around the countryside. Most of all, Michael loved spending time with his granddaughters.
Survived by his loving wife, Francine; his son, Shawn Hazen of Chicago; his daughter, Tracy (Jeff) Kruse of Winnebago; his granddaughters, Parker and Ellie Kruse; his 4 legged companion, Izzy; his brothers, Pat (Cindy) Hazen of Caledonia, Joe (Mary Ellen) Hazen of Roscoe, and his sister, Mary (Dennis) Nelson of Rockford; many nieces and nephews; his brother-in-law, Joseph (Jan) Zinna of Rockton. Predeceased by his parents, his aunt, Lucille Welch and his brother, Bobby Hazen.
