Rockford- Mervin V. Stout, 81, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Riverbluff Nursing Home. Born Aug. 8, 1928 in Tomah, WI. Veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. Worked for All Rental Garment working in sales and as a driver for over 25 years and then he owned his own sanitation business for over 15 years retiring in 1999. Survivors include his children, Barbara " Barb" (Matt) Szymanski, Deborah "Deb" Anderson, Sandra "Sandy" (Pat) Herrin, Patty (Doug) Pann; step children, Rick Slocum, Penny Conn and Randy Slocum; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sister, Ervil Elaine Valdez; sister-in-law, Carol Stout and his first wife, Harriet A. Dorris. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas James Stout; brothers, Charles "Bud" and Roger Stout. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Kelli, Jeanne and all the other wonderful staff at Riverbluff for the compassionate care they gave to dad. Visitation on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 5-7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Private inurnment to be held in Floral Lawn Cemetery.
