Max T. Kershisnik

Max Thomas Kershisnik, 74, of Winnebago, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012 in his home. Born October 2, 1937 in Rock Springs, Wyoming; son of Max and Frances (Homec) Kershisnik. Max was a 1955 graduate of Riverton High School and he received both his Bachelors and Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming. While working for Boeing in Seattle he met the love of his life Janet Wagner. They married on October 19, 1963. In 1967 they moved to Rockford and Max worked for Sundstrand before retiring in 1999. He was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Muldoon Council 470, and a 4 th degree member of the General Assembly 190. Max was a crazed Detroit sports fan from an early age and loved to coach sports. Max initiated the volunteer program in the Oncology Department at SwedishAmerican Hospital.nbsp; Also he was a member of the Lions club, a hospice volunteer, and enjoyed sharing his time and talents with others.

Survivors include his wife, Janet; children, Kateri (Paul) Schimbke of Dekalb, Kevin (Kelly) of Riverton, WY, Kellie (Dave) Milbrandt of Minneapolis and Kohl (Rebecca) Crozet, VA; grandchildren, Samantha amp; William Schimbke, Jocelin Kershisnik, Maxwell Milbrandt and Meredith amp; Collin Kershisnik; brotherinlaw, Stephen Wagner of Idaho and sisterinlaw, Alice (Terry) Godfrey of Australia. Predeceased by his parents.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Friday, May 4 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Avenue, Loves Parknbsp;with Father Brian Olsen officiating. Burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 7:00pm with a rosary recited at 7:00pm on Thursday, May 3 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford, ILnbsp; 61103.
