Mavis Kuhn

Mavis Kuhn of Rockford passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Alden Debes Hospice unit in Rockford. Mavis is survived by her loving family, especially husband Floyd; her son, Byron (Kate) Kuhn and their 4 children, Lia, Miles, Molly and Elliot; her son, Alex; her sisters, Pam (Gerald) Anderson and Cheryl Johnson and her brother, Jeffrey (Mary) Orton.

Mavis was preceded in death by her parents, Ardella and Orville Orton and her son, Darrell.

Mavis was a very active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church over the years and enjoyed traveling, reading, playing the piano and sewing.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 3300 Rural St. Rockford with Reverend Scott Stolberg officiating. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. and again from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. on Friday at the church. A luncheon at the church will immediately follow the services. Burial at Scandinavian Cemetery will take place following the luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Northern Illinois Hospice in Mavis’ name.
