Matthew T. Bederka

Matthew Thomas Bederka, 35, of Rockford, passed away at home on Thursday, February 23, 2023. 

Matt was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on July 1, 1987, son of Robert and Julia (Tarlton) Bederka. He was a big kid at heart and was loved immensely by so many family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Growing up, Matt had a passion for BMX bicycle riding. He enjoyed making many memories visiting grandma and grandpa in Arkansas, hunting and shooting targets on their vast and remote property. Most of all, Matt loved to go fishing with his dad and spending time with his family who meant the world to him. 

Those left to honor Matt’s memory include his parents, Robert and Julia Bederka; brother, Kyle D. Bederka; nephews, Kyle C. and Kayden M. Bederka; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles as well. He is predeceased by both maternal and paternal grandparents and his uncle, Tim. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Matt’s name to the Bederka family, to be established at a later date.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. located at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Cremation rites will be accorded.
