Matthew Eggleston

Rochelle- Matthew ""Matt"" Eggleston, 51, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 at Swedish American Hospital. Born April 21, 1957 in Elmhurst the son of Edward and Carol (Baker) Eggleston. Matt was a 1975 graduate of Sycamore High School and received an associates degree from Kishwaukee College. Currently worked for Chase Environmental Service in Rochelle as an office manager. Matt is a former member of the Unitarian Universalist Church where he served on several committees. He was also a former trustee for the Village of Creston, former Vice Chair of Concerned Citizens in Ogle Co., League of Womens voters in Rochelle, and published the Creston Observer paper. He also enjoyed a lifelong interest in arts and music which took up a majority of his time. Survivors include his children; Miles of Sycamore and Sarah and Ben of Creston; grandchildren, Nate and Austin; his parents, Edward and Carol; brother, Scott (Deana) of Machesney Park; sister, Sylvia (Dean) Markley of Rockford; nieces, Michelle Markley and Jamie Eggleston; nephews, Ken and Phil Markley and Evan Eggleston and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and caring friends. Preceded in death by his Paternal and Maternal Grandparents. Memorial service Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. Dr. J. Mike Solberg of Second Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday evening in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family.
