Maryelda Hughes

Maryelda Hughes, 80, of Rockford, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Neighbors Nursing Center in Byron. Born January 25, 1931 in Rockford, the daughter of Clifford and Mildred (Grove) Lundstrom. Graduate of East High School and went on to attend beauty school. Mary married her loving husband, Robert G. Hughes. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ogle County Hospice, Neighbors Nursing Center and Heritage Woods of Rockford. Survivors include her daughters, Deborah (Steven) Ferdinand and Linda (Mike) Costello; granddaughters, Angela (Jeffrey) Hodges, Deanna Mershon, Jennifer Schmidt and Sarah Forsythe; great grandsons, Noah and Jonathan Hodges and Charley and Cooper Mershon. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband and granddaughter, Kristin Schmidt. At Mary'¢s request all services are private. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford chapel is assisting the family.
