Mary V. Fitzgerald

Mary V. Fitzgerald, 102, of Rockford, passed away peacefully in her home on January 24, 2018. Born May 28, 1915 in Rockford, the daughter of James & Alice Fitzgerald. Graduated from Muldoon High School, class 1933. She worked as a secretary for Continental Insurance Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1980. Mary enjoyed playing golf, riding horses and her Scotty dogs. She was known as being caring, very sweet and funny.

Survivors include her beloved twin sister Alice Fitzgerald, numerous cousins, special friend Patti Marston; and loving caregiver Mercedes Damymiel who will miss her smiling face. Predeceased by parents, brothers, Joseph and John Fitzgerald; sister Ellen Fitzgerald.

Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd, Rockford. Visitation from 9:30 to time of mass.
