Mary R. Wilson

Mary R. Wilson, 88 Loving Mother, Grandmother and Sister Mary R. Wilson, 88 of Rockford, died Friday, November 21, 2008 at OSF St. Anthony Hospital. Born December 21, 1919 in Chicago, the daughter of William C. and Winifred (Fahy) Smith. A United States Veteran serving in the Army Air Corps. Worked for OSF St. Anthony Medical Center as a nursing assistant until her retirement in 1994. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed her teddy bear collection and her dog Chucky. Survivors include her son, Gary Wilson and  daughter, Rosemary Lutzow both of Rockford; grandson, Todd (Addie) Wilson of Rockford; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Walter Smith of Rockford; special nephew and niece Stan (Sue) Smith of WI and Debra (Robert) Hines of New Mexico and several additional nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Bill and Ralph Smith.   Funeral Mass Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. William R. Wentink Officiating. Interment in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation Friday, November 28 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family for dispersement among specific charities.
