Mary R. Musso, 90, formerly of Rockford, IL, died in Fond du Lac, WI on Saturday, October 17, 2009. She was born on January 18, 1919 in Marion, IL, the daughter of Raymond and Sarafina Falzone. She lived in Rockford for most of her life and moved to Fond du Lac in May, 2006. She attended Rockford Central High School. Prior to her marriage, she was employed at the Rockford Hosiery Company. On June 7, 1941, she married August A. Musso at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Rockford and they celebrated their 65 th wedding anniversary on June 7, 2006. Her husband preceded her in death on July 23, 2006. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Rockford and Holy Family Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. She was a kind, caring and loving person always doing good deeds for her family, friends and neighbors. She cherished her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Mary was a wonderful cook, and everyone looked forward to family dinners and delicious homemade desserts at her home. She enjoyed crocheting and took pride in her flower and vegetable gardens. She maintained a special friendship with the Poor Clare Nuns in Rockford since her childhood. Her faith in God was very important to her. Mary is survived by a daughter, Toni (Richard) Nuss of Fond du Lac and a son, Anthony Musso of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Cathy (Patrick) Keenan of Waunakee, WI, Mary (Mark) Syverud of Gurnee, IL and Jeffrey (Andrea) Nuss of Fond du Lac, Peter Musso of St. Louis, Laura Musso of St. Louis and David Musso of Quincy, IL; great-grandchildren Tim, Katie, Meghan and Connor Keenan; Sarah, Rachel and Luke Syverud; Olivia and Ella Nuss; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sisters, Nellie Fuca, Julia LaRosa, Jennie Spera and Sue Catalani and her brothers Joseph Falzone, Frank Falzone and Carl Falzone. Marys family extends their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, especially those who cared for her on the first floor. Their wonderful care and compassion is appreciated and will always be remembered. Special thanks are also extended to Hospice Hope, Rev. Desilet of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, and Rev. Capriolo, Rev. Giuffre, Rev. Stiefvater and Rev. Strand of Holy Family Catholic Church for their kindness and compassion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave., Rockford, IL. A visitation preceding the service will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the parish hall. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Poor Clares Corpus Christi Monastery,; St. Bernadette Catholic Church, or Holy Family Catholic Church, Fond du Lac, WI.
