LOVING WIFE, MOTHER, NANA, SISTER, AND AUNTMary Mae Leon, 56, Loves Park, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 13, 1954, in Rockford, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Pumilia) Wallis. She married Michael P. Leon in Rockford on May 27, 1972. Mary was employed at Rockford Orthopedic and Associates for almost 5 years. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church where she served as a Lector. Mary's life was her family.Survived by her husband, Mike; children, Theresa (John) Preston of West Dundee, Tony (Sarah) Leon of Rockton, and Rachel (Brett) Beard of Loves Park; 11 grandchildren; father, Charles Wallis; brothers, Sam (Diane) Armato, Albert (Ilene) Armato, William (Sandy) Wallis, and Charles (Cathy) Wallis; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother, Mary.Funeral Mass will be 10 am Thursday, October 28, 2010, in St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Av. Rockford, Il, 61103. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av.
