Mary K. Waskiewicz

Mary K. Waskiewicz, 95 of Rockford died on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007 in Rhinelander, WI. Born April 9, 1912 in Rockford, daughter of Alexander and Catherine (Dzik) Karczewski. Graduated from Browns Business College. Married her loving husband Vincent L. Waskiewicz on June 16, 1934 in Rockford at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Mary worked as a bookkeeper for their family business, Atlas Fuel Company and Crumb-Colton Block Co., retiring after 28 years. Memberships include St. Stanislaus and Polish Catholic Union of America. Survivors include her children, James Vincent (Cynthia) Waskiewicz of Herford, AZ and Christine Catherine (Thomas R.) Knabe of Belvidere; grandchildren, Timothy, Douglas (Dawn), Jeffrey and Wendy Waskiewicz and Dawn Marie (Hugh)LaBree and Thomas R. (Laura), Susan, John (Kenzie) and Andrew Knabe; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1998, and 3 brothers, Dr. Harry A. Karceski, Edmond and Stanley. Funeral Mass will be Monday, Sept. 24, 2007 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 from 1-3 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. and will continue on Monday at church from 10:00 10:45 a.m. Burial will be private.
