Mary Jean Gibson

Mary Jean Gibson, 94, of Rockford, IL, passed away on March 30, 2021 at Wesley Willows. She is the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Tucker) Bartholomew. She married the love of her life, Harold Gibson in Rockford, Illinois, they share 65 years of marriage. Mary was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends. Mary was involved in many activities at Wesley Willows. She was devoted to her family and will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband, Harold, daughter, Judy McWhinnie; grandchildren, Molly (Russ) McWhinnie, Shannon Peek, Tom Winquist, Richard Winquist and 2 great grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Jean Winquist; sisters, Evelyn Sword, Mickey Stafford and Phyllis Bauman.
Cremation rights have been accorded with a graveside service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Wesley Willows Good Samaritan Fund.
