Mary Jane Taphorn, 95, Rockford, died at 7:15 am Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in Provena Cor Mariae Center.nbsp; Born August 9, 1914 in Rockford,daughter of William G. and Nora Conners Taphorn.nbsp; Graduated from Bishop Muldoon High School.nbsp; Jane spent 40 years as a secretary for General Motors Corporation, retiring in 1987.nbsp; She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church and the Catholic Womens League.nbsp;
Survivors include 8 nieces, 5 nephews, numerous great nieces and great nephews and many cousins.nbsp; Predeceased by her parents; brothers, Robert, William, Richard and Edward, a niece and a nephew.nbsp;
A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 in the chapel of Provena Cor Mariae Center with Rev. William R. Wentink officiating.nbsp; Burial in St. Mary/St. James Cemetery.nbsp; Visitation from 8:30 am until time of the service.nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Poor Clare Corpus Christi Monastery.nbsp; Arrangements were completed by Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S.
