She is preceded in death by her parents. She attended Commerce High School in Worcester and graduated in 1950. She went on to attend the Boston School for fine Arts and completed two years there before meeting her husband on a blind date. Roger and Mary met in New York City and were married on April 10 th , 1956 in Worcester. After moving to the Chicago area, they soon began a family, with a daughter, Ann Marie being born in 1957. Three sons soon followed, with Steven W. in 1959, Joseph J. in 1961, and James R. in 1965. They raised the four children in Schaumburg, where she also helped to create and be a part of the Schaumburg Womens Club. As the children grew older, so did her love for them and she regaled them with tales of her passion for the arts, her love of skiing, and her time spent at Cape Cod. After raising her family, her artistic side turned toward creating pressed flower displays which she made for friends and family. While she had a reserved personality, most people were quick to recognize her great sense of humor. She used that humor to teach her family a great many lessons. She moved with Roger to Salt Lake City, Utah for a period of time before coming to Rockford. She and Roger loved to travel and spent time in Ireland tracing the family history upon his retirement. She was very active in the parishes where she lived, helping to build St. Marceline in Schaumburg, IL and was a member of Holy Family in Rockford where she was a member of the Caritas group.
