Mary Didier Mary Didier, 82, a lifelong resident of Rockford, went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2009 in her home surrounded by her family. Mary was born July 13, 1926 in Rockford the daughter of John and Ellen (Doyle) Durkin. Mary married Edward J. Didier on April 7, 1951 at Cathedral of St. Peter in Rockford. Mary graduated from Muldoon High School and received her Bachelors Degree from Rosary College. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, and former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Cathedral of St. Peter. Mary was a Lay Dominican, a member of the Catholic Womens League, Meals on Wheels, and St. Elizabeth Center. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed sewing, baking, and playing Bridge. Mary is survived by her husband, Edward (58 years of marriage children, Ed Didier, Anne (Brian) Preston, and Katie (Brian) Allison; grandchildren, Andrew and Paul W. Erickson, and Gracie, Jacob, and Emily Allison; brothers, Jack (Joan) and Jim (Peg) Durkin; seven nieces, one nephew, and many close friends. Mary was predeceased by her parents. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 29, 2009 at 10 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. followed by burial in St, Mary/St. James Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 3 6 P.M (with a Rosary at 6 P.M.) at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N.
