Sister Mary Annette Lepine, 79 of Rockford died at 12:01 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Poor Clares Corpus Christi Monastery after a long illness. Born December 9, 1927 in Detroit, MI daughter of Alfred and Monica Lepine. Lived 56 years in Rockford, coming from Detroit, MI. She attended Greenfield Village School and Edison Institute High School in Dearborn, MI and graduated from Rosary College in River Forest, IL. Recieved into the Order on July 14, 1951. She served her Poor Clare community as Vicaress for 9 years and Abbess for 3 years. Survivors include her sisters Katherine (Travis) Marshall of Bethesda, MD and Monica (Ed) Starrett of Livonia, MI. 4 nieces and 1 nephew, and the Sisters of Poor Clares Monastery. Predeceased by her parents. Services at 9 a.m. Wednesday, November 7 in Poor Clares Monastery Chapel, 2111 S. Main St., with Bishop Thomas G. Doran officiating. Burial in Poor Clares Cemetery. Visitation from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Monastery with rosary at 6:30 p.m., also visitation at 8 a.m. until time of services Wednesday.
