Mary A. Seaman, 77 of Belvidere, passed away on Monday April 30, 2007, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born Maria Audenzia Tortorice on March 2, 1930, in Rockford, the daughter of Anthony and Catherine (DAngelo) Tortorice.. She was a friend of Calvary Memorial Church. Mary enjoyed watching sports, music videos and the Sopranos with her grandson Christopher, whom she lived with for 27 years and shared a very special relationship. It was so important to Christopher that it was the reason he wanted to name his first daughter, Maria , after her. She also enjoyed watching game shows during dinner, old western movies and reading, especially Danielle Steele books. She loved everyone of them. She enjoyed her time with her daughters and grandchildren and constantly shared her love unselfishly. Anyone who knew Mary, knew her passion to do hair. She became a licensed beautician in May of 1967. That is when Mary Seamans Original Barrel of Beauty was established. She has lived out her dream on her own terms. It was her desire to work until she could no longer stand up and hold a comb. Thats exactly what she did until Saturday, April 21, 2007. She was so caring, unselfish, and so dedicated to her family, friends and to her business. She always said ""she would help anyone she could until she could help no more"" . Mary is highly respected and truly loved by all who knew her. She was so special, there and not enough words to relay the feeling of loss that we all have. She will be in our hearts and minds forever. May she now fly with butterflies that she loved so much in Heaven. We all know she was an angel on this earth and she is now at peace with the Lord in Heaven. Survivors include her daughters Crystal Albers, Sherry Hurd, and Vernita (Thomas) Seegers, grandchildren Pam (Mark) Tomenillie, Becky Hurd, Mark (Tina) Hurd and Christopher (Emily) Hare, great-grandchildren Katie Tomenillie, Maria Hare, and Meghen Hurd, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, brothers and sisters Anthony, Jasper, Nicholas, Dominic, Carl, Angie, Marie, Pauline, and Josephine. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Friday May 4, 2007, at Calvary Memorial Church, 2715 N. Alpine Rd. with Reverend David Petty officiating. Time of gathering will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church . Memorial to be established at a later date. Arrangements made by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
