Marvin W. Anderson

Marvin W. Anderson 88, of Winnebago, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017. He was born in Rockford on July 23, 1929; son of Marvin J. and Edith M. (Lundgren) Anderson. He was a 1947 graduate of Harlem High School. Marvin married his loving wife Marie (Ritter) Anderson in 1993 on St. Thomas Island in the Caribbean. He worked as a Foreman at Barber-Colman for 42 years retiring in 1992. Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Marvin and Marie spent 16 years as residents at Westlake Village where they enjoyed making friends and good memories. Marvin loved tinkering, woodworking, socializing, traveling, and he loved fishing. Marvin was a good man, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Marie; children, Greg Anderson, Ron (Dianne) Anderson, Bonnie (Mark) Dzurisin, and Duane (Debby) Earls; grandchildren, Angela Anderson, Emily Anderson, Sarah Anderson, Kristopher Earls, Kari (Jon) Herrera, Mitchell Dzurisin, Nicklas Dzurisin; siblings, Ken (Linda) Anderson, Marian Norberg; and numerous nieces and nephews, and many neighbors at Westlake Village.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108 with Pastor Dan Herman officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to the Willows Memory Unit at Stephenson Nursing Center.
