Marvin J. Lashock, 84, Rockford, died at 7:25 a.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born May 18, 1926 in Princeton, WI, son of Nicholas and Theresa (Soda) Lashock. Married Margaret L. Welsh in Rockford on June 19, 1961. WWII veteran of the U.S. Army, having received combat wounds while serving in Germany. Long time active member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Marvin was a cement mason for 45 years, working for various contractors. He was an avid gardener and he and his wife enjoyed numerous wonderful trips. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; daughter-in-law, Janice Furman; grandchildren, Jeff (Karen) Furman and Timothy Furman; great-grandchildren, T.J., Tawny, Sydnie and Addison. Also survived by his brothers, Eugene, Dennis (Elaine) Adrian (Geraldine) and Urban (Bernadine) Lashock; sisters, Inez Coda and Valerie Warnke and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; sons, Mark Lashock and Howard Furman; daughter, Debbie Lashock; brother, Leonard Lashock; sister, Alice; infant brother, Ervin Lashock and sister-in-law, Helen Lashock.A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 15, 2010 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, with a visitation from 9 a.m. until time of the service.
