Marvin "Dale" Edmond

Marvin “Dale” Edmond, 66, passed away on January 21, 2021. Born on February 9, 1954 in Junction City, Kansas he was the only son to William and Birdeena (Horn) Edmond. Dale was a member of UAW Local 803 and worked at Rockford Powertrain for over 40 years, retiring with the company then called GKN Rockford. A lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Machesney Park, Dale had a strong faith and made many friends within the church community. Through the support of the church, friends and family, Dale was extremely proud of his 28 years of sobriety. One of Dale’s favorite things to do was to ride; he rode bicycle and especially enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson bikes. His other hobbies included being outdoors, watching the New Orleans Saints, and playing the lotto; he once won 5 thousand dollars! Dale never met a stranger, he always tried to make friends with everyone that crossed his path. The most important people were his family, his grandchildren meant everything to him.
He is survived by those who loved him most, his significant other of 26 years, Brenda Honeycutt; his children Brandy (Nick) Jensen, Mike (Nikki) Edmond, and Jim (Amy) Edmond; his grandchildren Casey Austin, Rayna, Brooklyn, Garrett, Rylen, Kiley, and Elaina as well as his great grandson Maddox; his sister Lyvonna (Larry) Seaman and brother-in-law Tom (Jan) Honeycutt; and nieces and nephews Jillian Deubel, Katie Honeycutt, and Abby (Nick) Anczak; great-nephew Christopher Anczak. A special mention to his best friends, Jeff Taber, Mike Bomkamp, Steve Smythe and so many other friends and family he cared about. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Sharon Davenport.
