Martin “Marty” J. Fritts, 61, Roscoe, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 14, 1960, the son of James and Elaine (Horbelt) Fritts. Marty was a graduate of Guilford High School, class of 1978, and later graduated from Rock Valley College with an Associate’s Degree. He married his love, Tina McCoy, on September 8, 1984, and she passed away on October 25, 2016. He then was fortunate to find a new love in 2017, with his now fiancé Teresa Granberg. Marty was a loyal worker for Sundstrand Corporation and later for Warner Electric, now Altra Industrial Motion, during his career. He was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. Marty always had goals of becoming a teacher, and even though he went down a different career path, he endlessly taught everyone around him. He enjoyed all of the Chicago sports teams as well as the Las Vegas Raiders. Marty had a knack for reading, writing, making jokes, jamming to his tunes, and enjoying nature better than anyone else. Most of all, he loved spending quality time with his family. He was never one to shy away from a conversation, and because of that, he was able to gain an amazing group of loved ones around him.
Survived by his daughters, Hannah (Jimmy) Collins of Middleton, WI and Haley Fritts of Chicago; his fiancé, Teresa Granberg; his brothers, Charlie (Jennifer) Fritts and George (Sharon) Fritts; his sisters, Beth and Helen Fritts; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws, and God children. The family would like to thank the friends, family, and friends who are like family, for the endless support and love shown to us during Marty’s illness, and to the nurses and staff at Mercyhealth Hospice.
