Martha Viola Mcwilliams

Martha V. McWilliams, 82, of Rockford, died peacefully in her home on Friday, January 8, 2016. She was born in Hoxie, Arkansas, on October 27, 1933; to parents, Julius and Savannah (Brewer) Light. Martha moved to Rockford at 18 years old and married her loving husband, Cletis McWilliams on November 3, 1952. They lived in Rockford for the last 64 years, where they raised their family. Martha loved to crochet, and was an avid reader. She loved hummingbirds, roses, and country music. Above all, Martha was devoted to her family, who she loved and cared for deeply.
She is survived by daughters, Margaret (Jerry) Allen, Linda (Scott Hale) Duginski; grandchildren, Jerry (Brenda) Tinnin, Joe Tinnin, Branndon (Jennifer) Johnson, Suzette (Walter) Pritchard, Tammara Hooper, John Duginski, Aaron (Jennifer) Metras; brother, Albert (Mary) Light; sister, Ruth Singery; and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Marth is predeceased by her parents; her husband Cletis; daughter, Kathy Johnson; granddaughter, Amber Metras; brother, Raymond Light; sister, Beverly Buchanan.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2016; at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108; with Chaplain Ed Greenfield officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the McWilliams Family.
