Marsha Kay (Hoover) Koenings-Hursh, 65, of Belvidere passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Born November 23, 1948, in Rockford, the daughter of Lee and Valerie Hoover. Marsha married William Hursh on June 5, 1989. She volunteered for many years as a CASA Advocate. She loved meeting with her special card club and bowling friends and Red Hat ladies. Marsha enjoyed crafting, quilting and photography and won awards at the Boone County Fair for her talents.
Marsha is survived by her husband, Bill; children, Amy (Jerrod) Hawkins of Hendersonville, TN and Daniel (Jenny) Koenings of Rockford; stepchildren, Jeff (Megan) Hursh of Belvidere, Christine Koenings of Phoenix, AZ, Angie Koenings of Watertown, WI and David (Shelley) Koenings of Watertown, WI; grandchildren, Jair, Cole, Bode, Jayden, Xoe, Jaxon, Ben, Dylan and Devari; siblings, Karen (Jim) Villebro of Freeport, Steve (Karen) Hoover of Cherry Valley and Tom (Luci) Hoover of Rockford; in-laws, Ralph and Bev Hursh of Belvidere; brother-in-law, Jim (Kylena) Hursh of Belvidere and sister-in-law Susan (Skip) Waybrant of Etowah, TN; godchildren, Christopher Farrey and Ella Harris, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Valerie and Lee, husband, David Koenings and brother-in-law, Randy Farrey.
Memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, with a fellowship luncheon to follow the service.
